Kickstarter for Jeune Fille

As many of you know, my friends and I recently launched our own film production company, Advent Creative Productions. We took weeks deciding on a name for the company, and felt that ‘advent’ was a perfect word, because it means the arrival of something notable or great. My friends and associates Drew Byerly and Joshua McQuilkin are both aspiring writers and directors with a large amount of talent. Each has directed several of their own short films, and as a company we just wrapped on Drew’s latest short film a few weeks ago. I work as production manager, and my other associate Laura English is our producer.

Most recently we have been working on making Josh’s latest project, Jeune Fille, a reality. Over the past few months we have been holding auditions, doing location scouting, and taking other steps necessary to create this short film. The film is loosely inspired by French New-Wave films, and follows a young girl, Sophia, in a sweet but melancholy story that I feel that most people will relate to. We had a lot of trouble with casting, and eventually decided to work with the Screen Actors Guild. We finally found our perfect cast, and now all we are struggling with is funding. Here is where we could really use help from all our friends.

We decided it would be worth a shot to launch a campaign with Kickstarter. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the website, it serves as a means for artists to raise funds for their projects while giving back to their sponsors. It is a really great way for artists to be able to raise money, promote their projects, and get a large amount of people involved. Since we are young, poor college students who are still trying to get this company off the ground, we really can use all the help we can get. We are trying to raise $2000 in 3 weeks so that we can afford things like costumes, makeup, equipment, as well as entry fees to festivals so that we can get the film seen.

It would be wonderful if you could all check out our Kickstarter page and take a look. And of course I would love you forever if you were willing to make a donation (you can give as little as $1), or at the very least reblog this post to help get the word out.

Thank you so much,

-Margo
